There is an inherent beauty in the sport of cricket, that perhaps nothing else can match. Unlike other sports, cricket comes in patches, patches spurred by moments, moments which are decided in split seconds decisions.

Such has been this series between India and England. When two good teams go head to head, fireworks are expected, but this series has exceeded expectations.

Ben stokes’ match winning 99, consisting of 10 sixes was an epitome of the way England approach games, aggressively. And a Renaissance in Bhuvneshwar Kumars bowling was a treat to the eyes, there’s nothing like a bowler who can swing the ball both ways with masterful control.

One who looks at this series in the record books might think it was entirely Indian dominated, with series wins across all 3 formats, but anyone who watched these 12 matches will know that it was much closer.

What if England hadn’t collapsed after being 137/0 in 15 overs? What if Bairstow had found his mojo in the test series? What if Ishan Kishan had succumbed under the pressure and lost his wicket early? And most recently, what if Curran had pulled off a heist of the ages?

Cricket is a game of moments, and fortunately, or unfortunately, this time, they were India’s.
