Buttler’s brutality

Picture this:

A 130,000 seater stadium under lights. Virat Kohli has just lit up the stadium, leading india to 156/6 from 24/3 with a spectacular 77(46). The momentum all with the home team.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling for India, showing his masterful control of the ball, swinging it both ways and creating problems for Jason Roy, the pressure had been built.

Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s highest wicket taker gets the ball for the 4th over, and Jos Buttler walks down the pitch and smokes him down the ground for a maximum. Chahal went for 41 in his 4 overs, much of that coming from Buttlers blade, who never let him settle into a rythm.

However the moment that India lost the game was the 5th ball of the 4th over. Having already gotten Jason Roy out in the over, Chahal tossed the ball outside the off, inciting Buttler into playing a big shot, and Buttler obliged, sending the ball sailing down the ground. With just 156 runs to win, Buttlers self confidence was too much for India’s bowlers to handle, and 15 overs later, Buttler and England left the Narendra Modi Stadium 2-1 up and in the driving seat of the 5 match T20 series.
